This Is the Best Day Ever!

Eleanor, a Love INC volunteer from Millersburg Methodist Community Church was the Wheels of Love Route driver on this particular day. Two ladies from the community requested a ride to run their errands. When they call, they let us know exactly what stops they want to make within the 2 hour block of time our volunteers commit to spending. Eleanor picked both ladies up and had wonderful conversations as they together went out and about. One of the ladies had put on her request form that she would like to stop at Dairy Queen. As they were wrapping up the ride, they headed to the DQ drive thru. She asked the other lady if she would like anything? She thought a moment and said she’d like to order an ice cream cone. Eleanor collected the ladies’ money for their orders and then gave them their food. As they continued the drive, heading back to their homes, she looked over and observed the rider licking her ice cream cone with a big smile on her face. The rider proclaimed, “This is the best day ever!” Yes, a ride was given, but fellowship, conversation and a little ice cream provided joy and hope in a pretty tangible way that day!
